Atsuko Kida

Atsuko KIDA finished master course of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. At the time of 4 years olds, She studied Koto (Japanese traditional stringed instrument) from her mother. She chose a Koto at the end though she learned much art. She released a CD of [Koto za], [NOSTALGIA], [Suite Taketori-Monogatari] from Victor Entertainment. She has played in the world, then a younger person is being guided, too. She plays both of the classical music and the modern music by using the Koto. What she loves best is music. The second is liquor.


Eri Ohashi

She graduated the percussion course of Kunitachi College of Music in 1999. She was approved in the Solo-contest of the Kunitachi College of Music, and made solo appearances in the academy. She acquired license for teaching in junior high and high school. Was awarded the New Comer Contest of Ibaragi-Prefecture and prized in the National Classical Music Contest. She conducts music therapy in hospitals. Her collaboration work includes performance with Chinese two-string instrument, African percussion, Japanese string instrument, and ranges from classic to popular music.


Fumiko Yamazaki

A graduate from the percussion course of Kunitachi College of Music, Ms Yamazaki studied various percussion instruments including marimba and jazz vibraphone and is an award-winning percussionist. Aside from being active as a member of the Bamboo Orchestra, she performs solo or ensemble in salon concerts and events for educational purposes. Her involvement with music education includes instructing elementary and junior high school music teachers, leading a high school brass band team, and teaching taiko to kindergarten children. Recently she is also active with salsa and Latin jazz bands.


Kanako Yano

Kanako YANO finished master course of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She learned Koto (Japanese traditional stringed instrument) from Masako Keida and Natsuko Keida at the time of four years old. She learned to Yasue Ueki professor of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music from 1997. She passed Japanese tradition music audition of NHK. She teaches a high school student and a junior high school student Koto with Jissen Women School. She holds a workshop for one year, as for that from the child to adult. The music which she played was a wide genre, and stuck to the sound.



Katsuhiko Tane

My business is the domestic performance of Bamboo Orchestra and a Workshop. I want to spread Bamboo Orchestra in Japan. I work in Aoi Studio Co., Let. Director of Bamboo Orchestra.


Kimihiro Kitamura

He participated in all of the activities since the establishment of Bamboo Orchestra, and successfully turned it into an official Nonprofit Organization this year. He also plays traditional Japanese instruments. Finished master course of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Always thinking about Bamboo Orchestrafs future and realizing their dreams. Grateful of having the opportunity to meet many people through their activities!


Masayoshi Tachibana

He graduated the percussion course of Kunitachi College of Music. Participated in establishing Percussion Ensemble Okada of Japan in 1975. He was awarded the National Arts Festival prize, Record Academy Award of Japan, and Ongaku no tomo sha Award. He organized Miracle Percussion Ensemble with the members of Percussion Ensemble Okada of Japan in 1997, later becoming the representative. Participated in founding the Yokohama Boat Theatre as music advisor and accompanying its overseas performance in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Rumania, and others. He is one of the founders of Bamboo Orchestra. He pursues every eobjectf as a percussion instrument, and creates his own world of music.


Mitsuo Tamura

I am producing the overseas performance of Bamboo Orchestra. I want to introduce the new tradition culture of Japan to the foreign countries. President of STATION Co., Ltd. Director of the Bamboo Orchestra.


Miyoko Ashimoto

She was born in Tokyo, where she began to play the piano at five, and percussion at age nine. She studied at the Kunitachi College of Music, and received a bachelor's degree in percussion in 1997. She finished her master course in percussion at The TOHO Orchestra Academy in the spring of 2001, where she was awarded scholarships from the school. Currently, she is performing with a major orchestra in Japan, participating in many events and CD recording, while she instructs school marching bands and independent marching bands around Japan.


Motoko Iida

Motoko IIDA graduated the percussion course of Kunitachi College of Music. She studied Piano and Violin from 4 years old. She began Marimba with 12 yeares old. She passed Western Music Auditon of NHK. Then participated in Geneva International Music Competition. She played Percussion Ensemble Okada of Japan, Philiya Mellow Ensemble and Philiya Mrimba Duo from 1985. She serves as the representative of Azeriya Music School and member of Miracle Percussion Ensemble.


Seizan Matsuda

A Shakuhachi player and president of ZA ONDEKOZA, a Japanese traditional drum group. He finished master course of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. In 1992, he founded Bamboo Orchestra with Makoto Yabuki. Later played with ZA ONDEKOZA as a guest, and participated in their world tour and Japan tour for over 700 performances. He has also composed and recorded music for ZA ONDEKOZA and became president in 2001. His solo activities include performance with the Tampere Symphony Orchestra of Finland in 1995. He has also explored and experimented new possibilities of Shakuhachi by playing with Jazz pianist Fumio ITABASHI in his group Mix DYNAMITE.


Tomo Shiozaki

I take charge of the accounting of Bamboo Orchestra.


Tomoe Irino

Tomoe IRINO was born in Tokyo,Japan. Her father YOSHIRO IRINO was a famous music composer who died in 1980. Her mother REIKO also working on music. TOMOE studied the theory of western music and clarinet from her childhood. She joined "Yokohama Boat Theatre" (Kanagawa,Japan) as a musician and also an actress in 1986, and participated several international art festivals with this theatre group (Edinburgh 1989, New York 1991, Hong Kong 1994, Singapore 1997). She also is a member of "Bamboo Orchestra Japan", a music group which uses both original bamboo instruments and Japanese traditional bamboo instruments. She mainly plays percussions,and has many performances with this group throughout Japan. She studied Bharatanatyam(South Indian classical dance) from Smt.Kyoko Nobi for 4 years in the early 1990's. She is learning mridangam(South Indian double headded drum) from Sri Sheejit Krishna in Chennai,India. Since 1994, she studies Nangyar Koothu and Kutiyattam (Sanskrit classical theatre)in Irinjalakuda, Kerala as a student of Natana Kairali and Ammanur Chachu Chakyar smaraka gurukulam under Padmabhushan Guru Ammannur Madhava Chakyar. She finished her arangettam (the first performance) on Nangyar Koothu in January 1996, and performed the first role of kutiyattam (Vijaya in Toranayuddham) in February 1997. She performed "Nadi" in "sakuntalam" which was newly directed by G.Venu in January 2002. She performs Nangyar Koothu in Japan as well as Kerala. She also teaches Nangyar Koothu in Japan.br>


Tomoyuki Iwatsuki

Mr. Iwatsuki graduated from the percussion course of Kunitachi College of Music. He was awarded Yatabe prize when he graduated. He appeared in the newcomer concert of the 72nd Yomiuri Shimbun Company auspices and also in the 20th Percussion Instrument Society newcomer concert. Now, he is active as a free player. He is giving the guidance of the percussion instrument at junior high schools and high schools. He learned the percussion instrument from Mr.Hidehiko Sato, Kazuki Momose, Syoko Shintani, and Shinichi Ueno.
